The Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) project is designed to be fully post-quantum secure using PQ-CRYPTO recommended/IETF standard cryptography. Instead of employing ECDSA like other blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the QRL utilizes a hash-based one-time eXtended Merkle Signature Scheme (XMSS) for enhanced quantum resistance. This unique approach sets it apart in terms of security measures. Additionally, the implementation has been subject to rigorous scrutiny with multiple third-party audits conducted by red4sec and x41 D-sec.

  • Manage multiple wallets
  • Send / Receive Quanta
  • View your balance
  • View your transaction history
  • Instantiate a wallet from the web-wallet through a QR code
  • Set a lock screen

The QRL ensures that private keys associated with users' wallets are exclusively stored on their devices, not on external servers. Transmitting Quanta end-to-end maintains full post-quantum security even across networks utilizing ECDSA.

Despite the comprehensive security measures in place for the mobile wallets, they are considered 'hot-wallets' and should be used accordingly, akin to real-life wallets carrying expendable funds. For long-term storage, it is advisable to opt for the secure Ledger Nano S.
